What did you want to be when you grew up? My mom asked me this countless times over the years, and I always said I wanted to be a wife and a mother. Gratefully, that dream came true!

Fast forward to 2016… I was living my dream as a young wife and mother to two kiddos, who were 2.5 years old and 6 months at the time (this photo was taken Mother’s Day of 2016). We went to moms group, library story times, children’s museum trips, and park play dates. While I felt incredibly grateful for my life as a mom, I couldn’t help but think there was MORE out there for me.

I craved a creative outlet, something that reminded me of who I was outside of motherhood. After all, I was ME before I was MOM.

Have you ever felt that craving, too?

Around the same time, I was working on reducing the toxin load in our home. I was becoming more aware of the ingredients in the things we were putting in and on our bodies, and I knew I wanted the toxins OUT! 

I started with our food, then I moved on to cleaning products, then I started looking for non-toxic options for skincare, makeup, and the products I was using on the kids.

I was so frustrated reading labels in the skincare and makeup aisles at the store, because it seemed like everything was either filled with fragrances and other unwanted toxins, or it cost an arm and a leg… and then it would turn out to be ineffective, or simply not as good as my previous toxin-filled products.

Surely, there was a brand out there that created safe, clean products that were effective AND affordable!

(I can’t help but think about the short time when I contemplated just making my own products… LOL. No. This hot mess mom had no time for that. 😉 )

Soon after my days of frustrated searches in the skincare and makeup aisles, I discovered Lemongrass Spa through a Facebook party hosted by a friend. Once I viewed the virtual catalog, I KNEW I had found the solution to my problem.

Flipping through the online catalog, I saw that I had non-toxic beauty options from head-to-toe, right at my fingertips. I loved that the company was started by a young mom in the same position I was in. And I loved that all of the “homework” was done for me, and that I could trust each and every ingredient in these products!

At the very least, I knew I wanted to switch my family’s products over to Lemongrass Spa, and I figured I could share with other friends and family, too.

So, I joined before ever trying a product! (Crazy, I know!) Once I actually tried the products, I fell even more in love. I realized I had found the answer to my search for affordable AND effective products.

Now over seven years later, I am so grateful to be part of this incredible community of (mostly) women who come from all different stories, but who were all searching for the same thing: a clean beauty brand they love! And I love that I’ve been able to fulfill my need for a creative outlet and build my own community of women who trust me to share Lemongrass Spa with them. My mission is to help women feel beautiful and empowered to make better choices for themselves and their families when it comes to skincare and makeup.

Motherhood is my dream job. But so is this! How blessed am I that I get to do both?! 🙂
